In a duel for the vacant WBC super flyweight title Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez (15-0, 10 KOs) defeated the former world champion by unanimous decision Carlos Cuadras (39-5-1, 27 KOs) in the main event of the evening at the Footprint Center arena in Phoenix, Arizona. Rodriguez agreed to the bout days before it took place after Cuadras' original opponent Srisaket Sor Rungvisai was forced to pull out of the fight due to illness. Rodriguez was able to send Cuadras to the floor in the third round and won with a score: twice 117-110 and 115-112.
