Eddy Reinoso announced that negotiations are underway to join the coaching team of Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) and help him to prepare for rematch against Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) next year. The Briton recently visited several coaches in the United States and held preliminary negotiations on this matter.
"In my opinion, Joshua has a lot of physical qualities that he does not use," said the Mexican coach, who, among other things, works with Saul Alvarez, Ryan Garcia and Andy Ruiz.
If Joshua decides to make changes in his corner, the date of the second fight with the Ukrainian will be postponed. The Briton said that he would need six months to work with a new coach before a rematch with Usyk.
The second fight will not take place until spring, but the duel will likely take place next summer. The boxers first met in the ring in September in London. The fight was won by a Ukrainian who took away the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight belts from Joshua.
