Hunter gives an unexpected prediction for Joshua vs Usyk

American heavyweight contender Michael Hunter said that he considers mandatory WBO heavyweight title challenger Alexander Usyk as the favorite in a potential fight against WBA, WBO and IBF champion Anthony Joshua.

“Usyk is a defensive fighter. He is a pure boxer. In boxing, there is a rule or law that you have to fight boxers and box fighters. It seems to me that Usyk will defeat Joshua on points. I can't imagine Anthony hurting him. I admit that Joshua will hit Usyk with decent punches, but I don't see that he will catch him with punch strong enough to hurt him. I think Usyk will win by decision. However, I am betting that the fight will not take place.

"In my opinion, Joe Joyce will create Usyk more problems than Anthony Joshua. In his last fight, Joshua did not perform much better than usual. This is a plus for guys like Tyson Fury, Usyk and me, because Joshua is not that good. Real boxers who watched this fight are more comfortable seeing Anthony in this form than in the one that he had at the beginning,” Hunter said.
