In a highly anticipated duel of two undefeated heavyweights, the silver medalist of the Olympic Games in Rio, 35-year-old Joe Joyce (12-0, 11 KOs), thanks to a competent jab, managed to break and then knock out the previously unbeaten knockout artist Daniel Dubois (15-1, 14 KOs) in the main event behind closed doors at the historic Church House in London, next to Westminster Abbey.
Joyce threw his jab very often in the first round and continued to do so throughout the fight. Dubois also managed to deliver his powerful punches to the target, but Joyce was able to withstand them. Meanwhile, from Joyce's punches, Dubois' left eye was completely closed. The denouement came in the tenth round, when Joyce brought another blow to his injured eye. Dubois knelt down and listened to the referee's countdown. The time was :36.
Before the fight, Dubois was the favorite of the meeting.
