Cherkashyn stops Pitto in the first round

In the main undercard fight in Sosnowiec, Poland, 23-year-old Fedir Cherkashyn (14-0, 9 KOs) scored the first round TKO win over Guido Nicholas Pitto (26-7-2, 8 KOs).

Missing a few punches to the head, Pitto fell on the floor after Cherkashyn's right. The Argentinian was hurt but raised to his feet, yet was buried under a series of punches and Pitto's corner, realizing the helplessness of his fighter threw in the towel.

For Pitto, who defeated Jack Culcay in the professional ranks among others, this was the second stoppage defeat in his career. Previously, Pitto lost only to Zaurbek Baysangurov in the twelfth round.

For Cherkashynit was the third victory this year. Next fight the Ukrainian, who performs for KnockOut Promotions of Poland, should have on November 30 in Zakopane, but his right hand injury may prevent this fight.
