Russian boxers won seven gold medals at the Junior World Championships. In the tournament that took place in Bulgaria, gold was won by Russians Muhammad Vakhayev (48 kg), Boris Karibyan (52 kg), Vsevolod Shumkov (54 kg), Usman Magamadov (57 kg), Ilya Bogatyrev (70 kg), Mikhail Zakhariev (80 kg) and Alexey Dronov (over 80 kg).
Bronze medals received Nikolai Medinsky (46 kg) and Sino Sobirov (60 kg).
The second place by the medals count was taken by the Bulgarians (2 gold medals, 6 silver, 2 bronze), the Ukrainians (2-0-4) closed the top three.
