C.M. Punk on performing in the UFC: "What was I even thinking?"

Popular American wrestler "C.M. Punk" Phil Brooks shared memories of his short UFC career.

"I was talking to my wife the other day about my experience in the UFC. She said: "You were 36 or 37 years old when you debuted." And I said: "What was I even thinking?" But no regrets, glad I did it. I shouldn't have fought Jackson in Chicago. Those were the two worst weeks of my life, I couldn't get the weight off right.

But it was done, I'm proud of myself, I have ambition. I realize it's easy to laugh at me. Some people say it was embarrassing. You want to call me a loser, okay, but I was glad to get this chance. Glad I did it," Brooks said on The MMA Hour show.

As a reminder, C.M. Punk has had two fights in the UFC. In September 2016, he lost by choke hold to Mickey Gall, and in June 2018, he lost by judges' decision to Mike Jackson. The result of the second fight was later canceled due to a positive doping test of the opponent.
