Daniel Dubois (20-2, 19 KO) sat a few meters from Joe Joyce (15-2, 14 KOs) at last London boxing night on Saturday, but the former rivals did not exchange a word. And boxing fans probably won't see their rematch anytime soon.

“Hrgovic is the guy I would most like to face in my next fight. This is the beginning of a new me, and I'm ready for it. I want to get back to where I was before and I can only achieve that in big fights against big names. This is a very interesting period for boxing and the heavyweight division,” said Dubois, the August challenger for the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight belts, who, after losing to Usyk, bounced back at the end of the year with a stoppage win over Jarrell Miller (TKO 10).

“Sooner or later we will have a rematch, but now I need bigger names. At the moment, the fight with Hrgovic will be more interesting for me than the rematch with Joyce,” DDD added.

At the beginning of the month Filip Hrgovic (17-0, 14 KOs) received an invitation from the Saudis to perform at the Joshua vs. Ngannou boxing event on March 8 and the names of six potential opponents. Du Bois's name was also on this list of candidates.
