Alexander Krasyuk, promoter Alexandra Usika (21-0, 14 KOs), said on Instagram that there is theoretically a chance that Filip Hrgovic (17-0, 14 KOs) will be able to replace the injured Tyson Fury as a new opponent at the boxing evening scheduled for February 17 in Riyadh.

“We are working intensively on a possible fight with Hrgovic, but time is short. God willing, it could be Hrgovic, and if not, then there are no other options. It’s not up to us to decide, it’s up to the organizers to decide,” Krasyuk said. — The IBF agreed to a fight with Fury on the condition that the winner would then meet with Hrgovic. If Usyk fights someone else, he will lose the IBF belt.”

The promoter of the Ukrainian heavyweight champion according to IBF, WBA and WBO also said that in light of recent events it would be worth thinking about stripping Fury of the WBC belt. “This is the case of Mauricio Suleiman, but we have thought about it. Maybe he should become a champion “in retirement”?
