“I missed a shot that really affected me.” Usik remembered his first steps in boxing

Holder of WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight championship belts Alexander Usik told how his journey in boxing began.

“Even at my first training session I received a blow, which greatly affected me. I immediately realized that I had to work twice as hard as the others, start hitting as hard as possible and not get hit anymore.

I came to the hall at three o’clock and left at seven. Soon the first successes came and I fell in love with boxing. Many guys laughed at my “hanging out” in the gym. But you know the old saying: “He who laughs last laughs best,” bTV Sport quotes the Ukrainian.
