Michael Page, former Bellator fighter and current UFC recruit, posted a joint photo on his social media accounts with UFC middleweight prospect Khamzat Chimaev, wishing him a happy birthday.
"It's a pleasure to train alongside such a beast. Huge respect and happy birthday, Hamzat!" the British fighter wrote.
Michael Page made his UFC debut in March of this year, winning by unanimous decision over Kevin Holland at the organization's 299th event.
As for Chimaev, he won a majority decision over former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman in his last fight. The fight took place last October and Chimaev hasn't fought since.
Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker has spoken out about his upcoming fight against Hamzat Chimaev, which will take place on June 22 at the promotion's debut event in Saudi Arabia.
UFC fighter Rinat Fakhretdinov shared his opinion on the upcoming fight between Hamzat Chimaev and the promotion's former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker. Rinat advised Hamzat to knockout his opponent in the first two rounds.
"Hamzat will be more dangerous in the first two rounds. If Chimaev doesn't finish the fight in the first two rounds, then it will be difficult with Whittaker afterwards. Recall that the fight between Hamzat Chimaev and Robert Whittaker will headline the UFC tournament in Saudi Arabia, which will be held on June 22.
UFC flyweight title challenger Steve Erceg believes former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker is capable of earning an early victory over Hamzat Chimaev.
The Australian and the UAE-born Chechen will fight on June 22 in the main event of the UFC's debut event in Saudi Arabia.
"The outcome of the fight will depend on Whittaker's performance. If Robert fights like he did against Paulo Costa, he will emerge victorious. I think Whittaker has a good wrestling defense. He also has better standup defense than Hamzat. Robert will beat Chimaev and finish him in the late rounds," Erceg told MMA News.
T.J. Dillashaw, former UFC lightweight champion, shared his opinion on the organization's middleweight prospect Hamzat Chimaev.
"Chimaev, by all accounts, is very strong. I don't think he's being over-praised - he's earned all his hype. Really, I wish he would fight more often. He has a lot of fans. I'd watch a Hamzat fight against Bo Nickal. Nickal is good because he's been fighting for a long time and is used to using his skills over and over again. Misses a transfer to the ground - immediately goes for another attempt. He exhausts even other good wrestlers. Nickal can get caught, someone can knock him out. But that goes for any fighter in general," Dillashaw said.
