Sterling spoke about the difficult situation in the UFC heavy division

Former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling spoke about the chances of the owner of the interim heavyweight belt Tom Aspinall get a fight with a full-fledged division champion Jon Jones.

“Usually when the interim champion is healthy and the undisputed champion comes back, you have to unify the belts. But, as far as I understand, we will not see this... We will still wait for the Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic fight, although we have an interim champion who is healthy, active, young, ready to fight. From the looks of it, he won't get the opportunity to fight one of the greatest fighters of all time.

I don't really like this. I sympathize with Aspinall on this issue. What the hell is the point of an interim belt if he can't fight a full-fledged champion? Perhaps the UFC simply told Tom: “Well, we think Stipe is going to lose, so sit tight and you’ll get the fight with Jones,” Sterling said in the latest episode of the author’s YouTube channel.
