Former UFC fighter and current commentator and analyst Chael Sonnen shared his opinion on Khabib Nurmagomedov.
"Before UFC 300, there were a lot of wild suggestions for the main event fight. And coach Javier Mendes admitted that he was working with Khabib - and Khabib only trained with him when he was preparing for fights. Those words were then taken out of context. I also fell for it, though many people I know were offended by the very idea of Khabib's return. "Khabib has principles!" - they told me. And Khabib did the honorable thing when he gave up his belt after beating Gaethje. He could have stayed champion for another year and made money from sponsorship contracts. But even when he gave up the belt, the UFC didn't strip him of his championship right away. They even moved him up in the rankings!" - said the American in a video on his YouTube channel.
