Famous American trainer Teddy Atlas shared his thoughts on a possible unification bout between IBF lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko and WBA titleholder Gervonta Davis.
Atlas believes it's too late for this fight now because of the Ukrainian veteran's age.
"Gervonta Davis was exciting. Lomachenko, by the way, a little earlier was also exciting. They have an age difference: Davis is 29 years old and Lomachenko is 36. Yes, I wish we were talking about this fight four years ago, but you can't turn back time.
They seem to be moving towards this fight. I don't doubt it, I'm not trying to speak delicately - I think Lomachenko is a few years too late. This fight was on my wish list a few years ago. I'm still interested in it, but not like I used to be," Atlas said.
