Top South African UFC middleweight Dricus Du Plessis commented on the victory Sean Strickland above Israel Adesanya in a title fight, not missing out on the opportunity to challenge the new champion.
On September 10 at UFC 293, Strickland defeated Adesenya by unanimous decision to win the middleweight title.
“What an upset! Don't think for a second that I'm impressed, but congratulations to Sean Strickland for becoming champion and beating this Kiwi-Chinese-Nigerian. We became the authors of the loudest upsets this year. I am, without a doubt, the number one contender, so let's settle this issue like men, whenever and wherever.
And after that, I will give Adesanya a well-deserved beating in my homeland in South Africa. But I don’t want to beat up an amateur who fought last weekend, so rest well and get ready!” Du Plessis wrote on one of his social networks.
