Justin Gaethje, the former UFC interim lightweight champion, explained why the organization's featherweight champion Alexa Volkanovski there is no chance of getting a rematch with the promotion's lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.
“Volkanovski had a chance. He didn't use it. I think that if I had not finished off Poirier the way I did, he would have had more chances. Just between Alex and Islam, it’s a really good fight. But I still knocked out Poirier, the number 2 ranked guy, winning the BMF title. There is no doubt that I am next in line to fight the champion...,” said Gaethje.
