Makhachev's coach answered whether Islam can beat Volkanovski ahead of schedule

UFC Champion Mentor Islam Makhacheva Javier Mendez expects his ward's upcoming rematch with the holder of the belt in the division below Alexander Volkanovski will go the entire distance.

The meeting of these fighters will headline UFC 294, which will take place on October 21 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

“Will this fight last all five rounds? Yes, I think Volkanovski's stamina will allow him to go the distance - unless, of course, he starts missing punches. Unless he takes a lot of damage, it will likely be a five-round war again. I'm tuning in to this.

I don’t like to bet on quick victories and random knockouts. I feel more confident when we go through all five rounds. Also, don't underestimate Alex. He’s a great champion,” Mendes said in an interview with Submission Radio.

Let us remind you that the first fight between Makhachev and Volkanovski took place in February of this year and ended in the victory of the Dagestani by unanimous decision.
