Arum: Let Whyte fight Usyk

Oleksandr Usyk

Bob Arum has an idea: to organize a fight of mandatory challengers standing in the way of a unification meeting for four heavyweight belts of Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) and Anthony Joshua (23-1, 21 KOs).

The head of Top Rank suggested in an interview to talkSPORT that Dillian Whyte (26-1, 18 KOs), who is seeking a fight against Fury for the WBC title, should meet Oleksandr Usyk (17-0, 13 KOs), the official challenger for the WBO belt owned by Anthony Joshua. Next year, in a kind of "eliminator", Whyte and Usyk could fight for the right to face the winner of Fury vs Joshua bout.

So far all four fighters mentioned above have already been associated with fights for the year - Fury against Deontay Wilder, Joshua against Kubrat Pulev, Whyte against Alexander Povetkin and Usyk against Dereck Chisora.
