Next fight of Belal Muhammad is not determined yet.
Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker has admitted that he wants Belal Muhammad to win his upcoming fight with lower division titleholder Leon Edwards.
According to the latest information, the fight between the American and the Brit will be the main event of UFC 304, scheduled for July 27 in Manchester.
"The more people hate Belal Muhammad, the more I like him (laughs). I want to see Belal with the belt. It would upset a lot of fans, the noise would be fantastic.
I don't want Leon Edwards to lose because I like him a lot. I'm just saying that if Muhammad becomes the champion, it will be funny," Bloody Elbow quoted Whittaker as saying.
The coach of the top American UFC welterweight Belal Muhammad Tuis Taylor said that his ward was not satisfied with the joint work with the team of Khabib Nurmagomedov.
"The thing is that these guys are very simple. We were extremely disappointed because Belal is a creative guy. It's not that they're unoriginal. No, they are all different. For example, Makhachev trains in his own way. But they all have simple concepts of fighting.
They grab your leg, give you a takedown and keep you on the ground for five minutes without trying to improve your position. And it's frustrating because you're wasting five minutes of training. They don't train creativity on the ground," the specialist told Money Loyalty Legacy.
Muhammad is expected to have a title fight against Leon Edwards in July.
Belal Muhammad, a top UFC welterweight, is not satisfied with training with Khabib's team. Muhammad's coach Louis Taylor reported that.
"They are straightforward and simple. Even Belal was upset because Belal is creative. They are not creative. Their method is simple - I'm going to grab your leg, transfer you, keep you down for five minutes and not do anything so I don't jeopardize my position. It's frustrating because you've just lost five minutes of training - throwing one leg kick and then lying down for five minutes. Neither fighter gets anything in that position, but you can't get up. They're not taught to be creative in the parterre."
Belal Muhammad, a top welterweight fighter, has spoken out about his upcoming bout with the organization's featherweight champion Leon Edwards.
"I envision coming out and tearing him apart with boxing in the first round. In the second round I start kicking him with leg kicks and body punches, then in the third round I start pinning him against the cage and hitting him with elbows. In the fourth round I do a teikdown and start doing sub-missions, he'll start lunging and then I let him go. I hear his trainer shouting magic words from the corner. Then I lick my lips and point to the center of the cage like Max Holloway and Leon looks at me in fear. I then deliver a takedown and win by a score of 50-42 on all three judges' scorecards."
As a reminder, Muhammad's fight with Edwards will take place on July 27 at UFC 304 in Manchester.
UFC top welterweight No. 2 Belal Muhammad spoke about his attitude toward current division champion Leon Edwards.
"I hate him to the core. He tries to avoid facing me, belittles my accomplishments, says I don't deserve a fight for the belt. Things like that make me furious. They fuel my hatred for this guy, and I can't wait to smear him.
Of course, I'll be ready to fight Edwards on his home soil. I have more fans in Manchester than he does. Nobody there cares about him. When there was a parade in his honor, six people showed up and three of them were his relatives. If I get a chance to go to his homeland and beat him there, it will be amazing," MMA Mania quoted Muhammad as saying.
