Top UFC heavyweight Alexander Volkov revealed why he withdrew from his bout against former interim division champion Cyril Gagne.
"I tore knee ligaments two weeks ago and the pace of recovery is not allowing me to fully finish training camp and make a fight.
I plan to be back in action, taking my next fight as soon as possible. So, stay tuned, and thank you for your support and understanding in this difficult situation for me," said Volkov.
Recall that Volkov and Gun were scheduled to rematch at UFC 308, scheduled for October 26 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The first meeting of these fighters took place in June 2021 and ended with a victory of the Frenchman on points.
