Usyk, now 38 years old with a perfect 24-0 record, showed off his superior skills against the younger Dubois. He used his southpaw stance to control the fight, landing sharp jabs and moving around the ring with ease. Dubois couldn't find an answer to Usyk's technique and precision.
The end came at 1:52 of the fifth round. Usyk landed a big right hand that sent Dubois to the canvas. When Dubois got up, Usyk followed up with a left that forced the referee to stop the fight.
After the bout, Dubois, whose record now stands at 22-3, praised Usyk's performance and said he'd come back stronger.
"Usyk was just too good tonight. He showed why he's the champion. But I'll learn from this and be back better than ever,"Dubois said.
Usyk now holds the IBF, WBA, WBC, and WBO heavyweight titles. He'll have some options for his next fight. The WBO has ordered him to face Joseph Parker, but there's also talk about potential matchups with Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, or Derek Chisora.
For now, Usyk plans to take a break and spend time with his family.
"I'm happy with my performance, but now it's time to rest. We'll see what comes next,"Usyk said after the fight.
The undercard also had some exciting action. Lawrence Okolie beat Kevin Lerena by unanimous decision in a heavyweight bout. In a light-heavyweight fight, Daniel Lapin surprised many by winning a majority decision over Lewis Edmondson, even after slipping on the ropes twice in the seventh round.
The night belonged to Usyk, though. His win cements his place among boxing's greats and sets up some potentially big fights in the future. For now, the heavyweight division remains Usyk's to rule.
