Paul scored a unanimous decision victory over the 58-year-old Tyson in November. The fight lasted eight two-minute rounds and proved to be one-sided in Paul's favor. It marked Tyson's first professional bout in over two decades.
Following the win, fans started speculating about Paul's next opponent. World champions even began calling him out. But one name that's likely off the list is KSI.
Paul's promoter, Most Valuable Promotions, made a statement on social media that seems to put the KSI fight to bed. They posted:
"Flashback Friday to when Jake Paul was an influencer boxer. 2 fights, 2-0, 2KOs. The best there was, is and ever will be. Jake is RETIRED from that sport. They need him, he doesn't need them… hence why they said his name 400 times this past week."
Paul weighed in at 227 pounds for his fight with Tyson. He's now chasing a bout with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. KSI, on the other hand, maxes out at 185 pounds and is still active in the crossover boxing scene. He recently lost to Tommy Fury.
A fight between Paul and KSI could have been huge. Their combined followings would make it a mega event for the right audience. But the big weight difference between them was always going to be a challenge.
KSI's Misfits Boxing held an event last month where AnEsonGib won the main event. Paul beat AnEsonGib back in 2020, showing how far he's come since then.
Even boxing legend Floyd Mayweather has weighed in on Paul's career, discussing whether he'd come out of retirement to face him. It seems Paul's options are wide open, but a KSI fight isn't likely to be one of them.
