Anthony Crolla Drops Bold Prediction for Joshua-Dubois Clash: "Nobody Expects This"

Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois will fight for the vacant IBF heavyweight title tonight at Wembley Stadium. The bout is part of the Riyadh Season and comes after Oleksandr Usyk had to give up the ...

Former world lightweight champion Anthony Crolla shared his thoughts on the main event and the rest of the card. Crolla sees Joshua stopping Dubois around the fifth round.

"AJ will be sharp early on. It depends on how much punishment Dubois takes in the first few rounds. If not too much, Dubois could potentially stop AJ after 4-5 rounds. But Joshua is likely to land too often early, leading to a shootout and eventual stoppage."

In the co-main event at 160lbs, Josh Kelly faces late replacement Ishmael Davis after Liam Smith pulled out with a virus. Crolla expects Kelly to win on points, calling him "a special talent" who'll be "too cute" for Davis despite some tricky moments.

Josh Buatsi takes on Willy Hutchinson in another intriguing matchup. Crolla predicts a late stoppage for Buatsi but isn't too confident. He noted that Hutchinson gave Buatsi trouble in sparring and could frustrate him early like he did against Craig Richards.

At super-featherweight, Josh Warrington meets Anthony Cacace in what Crolla sees as a very close fight. He gives Warrington the edge to win a tight decision, thinking he'll out-muscle Cacace in the later rounds.

European middleweight champ Tyler Denny faces Hamza Sheeraz in another good fight. Crolla thinks Sheeraz's size advantage will be too much, predicting a stoppage just after halfway.

"Sheeraz is too big and long for Denny, but Denny will have early success before Sheeraz overcomes some adversity."

Adding to the night's entertainment, Liam Gallagher will perform. Crolla joked that if Liam and his brother Noel settle their differences in the ring, he'd back Liam based on his school reputation.
