Devin Haney wants to make it clear that he Gervonta "Tank" Davis are in the same monetary category. The undisputed lightweight champion recently had a text box with Davis on social media about their fees. In one post, Davis stated that he was paid "5 times more" than Haney for fights, suggesting that his popularity with boxing fans outweighed Haney's belts.

“[Three crying emoticons] why then am I getting paid 5 times what you want, as if I have all the belts? Davis wrote on Twitter. "Stop trying to be me... people are starting to notice."

In a recent interview, Haney disagreed with Davis' assertion, stating that Tank was essentially wrong.

“This is crazy,” Haney said in an interview with FightHype.com. - He wants to say that he earns 25 million dollars per fight? Everyone knows it's bullshit. If he was making 25 million a fight, it would show."

Haney noted that from a material point of view, he has "everything" that Davis has.

“He is no better than me. Everything he has, I have. Still, no one believes in it. It was just an excuse so people wouldn't say, 'Why don't you fight him?' He wanted to tie the money in somehow."

Haney does not believe that Davis, who has been strictly on pay-per-view for the past couple of years, is making more money than he is.

“We all know the truth,” Haney added. “He definitely doesn’t earn five times more than me. He doesn't even earn more than me."

Haney is set to defend his four lightweight titles against George Kambosos in their October 15 rematch in Melbourne, Australia. Haney defeated Kambosos via unanimous decision in their first meeting this summer.

“My main focus right now is on George Kambosos,” Haney said. "Once we defeat him, we can talk about what's next."
