Berlanga scores another 1st round victory

Undefeated super middleweight puncher Edgar Berlanga (15-0, 15 KOs) defeated Lanell Bellous (20-6-3, 13 KOs) by TKO in the first round in one of the undercard fights of the evening night Lomachenko - Lopez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Berlanga was literally immediately able to hurt his opponent and referee Robert Hoyle quickly stopped the fight, perhaps too prematurely, seeing how Berlanga hit the target again and again. The time was 1:19. Thus, Berlanga has 15 first-round knockouts in 15 fights.

“As soon as he entered the ring, I looked into his eyes. He didn't want to fight. So I had to get him out of the ring,” Berlanga said.

Celebrating the victory, Berlanga climbed the ropes and shouted: "I'm a fucking monster!"

“I'm the first to stop him and {I did it} in the first round. So, you know, it's just because of emotion, because of how I really felt. Despite all the critics, all the media, I just felt that I had to say this,” explained Berlanga in an interview.

“We are planning the next fight in December. I just spoke to Bob {Arum}. He wants me to fight in December. I'm really looking forward to fighting in Puerto Rico and then also in June at the Puerto Rico {Parade} weekend in Madison Square Garden, so with God's help, everything will be fine, we can do it,” Berlanga added.
