Makhachev: "Porier defeated St. Denis thanks to experience"

UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev has spoken out about the latest fight of his closest rival Dustin Puryear.

In early March, the American knocked out Benoit Saint-Denis in the second round, earning another title shot.

"In the last fight, Porier showed a good performance. Saint-Denis is also a high class fighter, with good wrestling, with good grappling, but I think the fight with Dustin was a burden for him. I think the key was Puryear's experience. He started the fight slowly, waited for this guy, and when he got tired, he finished him," - quotes Makhachev New York Post.

Recall that Makhachev and Puryear will fight on June 1 at UFC 302 in Newark, USA.
