WBC World Lightweight Champion Regis Prograis (28-1, 24 KOs) officially signed a contract with the promotional organization Matchroom Boxing. The American will return to the ring on June 17 in New Orleans, where he will meet with the unbeaten Liam Paro (23-0, 14 KOs).
Prograis, 34, won the World Boxing Council belt in November by defeating José Cepeda. Rugaru was also recently in talks to sign a contract with Top Rank.
Paro has been the owner of the WBO Global belt in the category up to 63.5 kg since 2019. In his last appearance in the pro ring, the Australian knocked out Brock Jarvis.
