Atlas: "If NYSAC allows Garcia to fight, it needs to be shut down"

Famous trainer Teddy Atlas believes the New York State Athletic Commission(NYSAC) should be shut down if it allows Ryan Garcia to fight against Devin Haney.

"Not only do I think Garcia shouldn't fight, but if he makes the fight, I'm going to suggest that the New York State Athletic Commission be shut down because there's no point in having a commission when we see all these things that scare us. Some people laugh at it, they get stupid, but it's scary.

Garcia smokes pot, drinks a bottle of liquor, talks about taking hallucinogens. He says he was kidnapped, taken to the woods and forced to watch sex with small children. When we're talking about a guy in such a psychological state ahead of a huge fight, if the commission doesn't get him to go to qualified psychiatrists to be evaluated by the right medical professionals, it should be shut down," Atlas said.

Recall that the fight Haney - Garcia is scheduled to take place on April 20 in New York.
