Sandhagen explained why he wants a five-round fight with Nurmagomedov

Top American fighter of the UFC lightweight division Cory Sandhagen told why he insists that his fight with undefeated prospect Umar Nurmagomedov consist of five rounds.

It was previously reported that their clash could take place on June 29 in Las Vegas.

"I asked to make our fight a five-round fight, I fight better at this distance. Of course, I'm attracted to the idea of a three-round fight at a crazy pace, after two or three years of fighting only five rounds. In his last fight, Nurmagomedov was breathing hard, he showed his vulnerability. But at the same time I want to recognize that Umar fought at a very high pace," the American said in an interview with Fanatics View.
