Parker and Zhilei will have a rematch?

There are many signs that boxing fans will soon see a rematch between Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs) and Zhang Zhilei (26-2-1, 21 KOs). Parker, who defeated the Chinese yesterday by a majority vote of the judges, admitted in a post-fight interview that he had a rematch clause in his contract for Friday's fight.

Zhilei will likely take advantage of the contract clause, as he wrote on social media when he posted a photo with his winner, "You were better today. It was an honor to share the same ring with you. We will need to meet in the ring again, but right now I'm glad we both finished this fight healthy. Thank you, Saudi Arabia."

As a reminder, former world champion Joseph Parker dethroned WBO interim heavyweight champion Zhang Zhilei by a twelve round majority decision on Saturday night's Riyadh boxing event. Zhilei sent Parker to the floor in the third and eighth rounds, but the New Zealander eventually outboxed and outboxed the Chinese in a tactical battle. The judges' scorecards read: 113-113, 114-112 и 115-111.
