Whittaker: "The day of the fight with Costa, I woke up with the flu"

Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker talked about the health problems he faced on the eve of the fight with Paulo Costa.

Recall, on February 17 at UFC 298 in Anaheim, USA, the Australian defeated the Brazilian on points.

"On the day of the fight, I woke up with a serious sore throat, I was chilling. I was lucky that the meeting came at the beginning of the illness, on the first day the flu does not hit the body so hard.

Things could have taken a turn for the worse, because a couple days later when I got home, I was completely out of energy. You can still hear it in my voice now. It's been a week and a half and I'm still in terrible shape," MMA Mania quoted Whittaker as saying.
